7 artists from San Antonio featured in “Mundos Alternos—Art and Science Fiction in the Americas” Exh

Part of the upcoming Getty’s Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA Exhibit “Mundos Alternos—Art and Science Fiction in the Americas” exhibit dates are 09.16.17— 02.03.18 reception 09.30.17 6-8pm at the UCR|ARTSblock in Riverside California. Exhibit art book available.

This major national/international exhibition includes 7 San Antonio artists — Claudio Dicochea, L. A. David, Luis “Chispas” Guerrero, Deborah Kuetzpalin Vasquez, Paul Karam, Raul Servin, Luis Valderas.

In addition, the major exhibit in the west coast coincides with the summer release in San Antonio of a literary component to this exhibit theme; the recently released anthology “Altermundos—Latin@ Speculative Literature, Film and Popular Culture” published by UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center Press, 2017 edited by Catheryn Josefina Merla-Watson-SATX and Ben V. Olguin-HTX features an number of San Antonio authors such as John Phillip Santos, Greg Barrios, Joe Jimenez, Amalia Ortiz.
